Do I need a prescription for Physical Therapy?

Colorado is a Direct Access State. This means you do not need a prescription for physical therapy. However, I do accept prescriptions and can also request a prescription from your doctor after the first visit upon your request.

Do you take insurance?

Currently, we are accepting Medicare, Medicaid and Cigna.

All other major medical insurance is accepted under out-of-network benefits.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the patient and the diagnosis. At the initial evaluation, a plan will be devised specific to your needs addressing number and frequency of treatments to address your problem.

What type of patients benefit from Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is a valuable tool in the treatment of many common ailments including low back pain, neck pain, muscle and joint pain, difficulty with movement, athletic/sports injuries and much more. Physical Therapy allows for the treatment of these and many other dysfunctions without the use of surgery, potentially addictive drugs or injections. If you are looking to decrease pain, improve mobility return to activity, avoid surgery or prevent injury, Harmon Physical Therapy is here for you.

What are the benefits of Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is beneficial if you desire to reduce pain, improve function, increase strength, mobility and stability, reduce the risk of injury and feel energized all without using surgery, injections or drugs.

What are the benefits of Pre- and Post-Op Physical Therapy?

Though every attempt will be made to avoid the need for surgery, there are some injuries or dysfunctions that may require this intervention. Pre-op therapy can be just as valuable if not more so, than post-op rehab. At Harmon Physical Therapy, we recognize that the more mobility, strength and knowledge of what is to come prior to surgery as well as minimizing swelling and pain, the easier and more successful the rehab will be after the surgery. For this reason, we encourage pre-op therapy to facilitate the timely and successful recovery after surgery.

What Physical Therapy techniques do you utilize?

Various techniques will be used including, but not limited to exercises, manual therapy, joint mobilization, pool therapy and modalities as needed.

  • Exercises – Including body weight, free weights, bands and machines will be used to strengthen muscles and stabilize joints
  • Manual Therapy – Hands-on treatment used to treat musculoskeletal and soft tissue pain and dysfunction utilizing soft tissue massage and/or trigger point release.
  • Joint Mobilization – Hands-on treatment used to treat skeletal joint pain and dysfunction utilizing passive, passive-assisted and active movements
  • Pool Therapy – Utilizes the buoyant effect of water to decrease the loads on your joints, the resistive effects of water to strengthen muscles and stabilize joints and the compressive effects of water to reduce swelling, pain and increase mobility
  • Modalities – Include ice, heat or electrical stimulation to reduce swelling, pain, increase blood flow and improve mobility.

Harmon Physical Therapy Reviews

I woke up one morning with back pain that prevented me from bending over to tie my shoe! I literally walked into Michael’s office Monday afternoon, was diagnosed immediately and within the next 40 minutes his work on my spine relieved most of my pain. I could almost touch my toes again when departing his office. By the end of the week, after carefully instituting all the stretches and activities he supplied in illustrations and text, I could again touch my toes. I cannot say enough about how satisfied I am with the quickness of scheduling, along with the immediate relief I gained from Michael’s outstanding skills.

Treated for back pain

Mike helped me work through my recovery from surgery. He did a great job assessing the state not only of my foot but the whole chain up through the legs, knees and back and how my broken bone was effecting the health of these joints and muscles. After my 6 month follow up, my foot surgeon is very pleased with my progress. Mike’s treatment and program helped me get through the toughest parts of the healing process. I’m now able to get back to enjoying most of my previous activities like golf and hiking. Mike is highly recommended!

Treated for foot pain

Facing hip replacement surgery was NOT on my bucket list and I knew my number one goal would be to heal, heal correctly and get back to what I consider FUN…walking, walking and walking enjoying the out of doors.

Michael treated me after my hip replacement surgery. He was attuned to my needs and what best served me to aid in eliminating pain and gaining strength. Throughout rehabilitation, I became stronger, more stable and more flexible. Best of all, I am back to walking, walking and walking. Michael is my PT of choice.
